WiredBenefit's flexible prepaid card platform enables community healthcare organizations and
non-profits to offer collaborative Three Share Programs to expand healthcare coverage to uninsured
and under-insured patients. This new cooperative approach to offering healthcare is rapidly emerging as
an effective way to achieve better healthcare coverage. There are currently close to 1000 programs
of this type operational across the U.S.
Three Share Programs, sometimes called Multishare or Three-Share programs, usually involve local provider
networks, employers, and/or local government agencies. They can also include local tax authorities, public hospitals
or other non-profit community organizations. The goal of these programs is to have the parties share the
costs of healthcare and in that way improve overall coverage. In some cases providers may also participate
by agreeing to accept lower payments in order to reduce the amount of uncompensated care they deliver.
The WiredBenefits Platform is flexible enough to allow multiple parties to contribute funds to
prepaid healthcare cards, and the funds can be used by individuals or families to easily pay for
their healthcare costs wherever the cards are accepted. Participating Sponsors can set rules around their
payments' coordination with the cardholders' usage.
The platform is easy-to-use and web-based so that sponsors and patients can securely log on to manage
their own accounts, check balances, review previous transactions, change addresses, review
benefits, etc. This self-service approach reduces the servicing burden on sponsoring organizations.
Employers and other healthcare organizations can easily set up and administer these programs online in
accordance with their objectives.
